Wattle is the term used for fixing twigs or sticks (usually cleft of riven hazel, oak, ash) between studs on a timber frame building to form a skeleton onto which the daub will cling, one method is to spring ledgers between the studs to form a ladder effect.

We are always keen to retain as much historic infill as possible and work hard to keep it in place. Sometimes it is in such a poor condition that we have to renew it. We are experienced in ensuring that your historic building keeps that aged, architectural look and feel.
